Please contact us at (301) 908-7249. Our regular hours are 9am-8pm every day. Please leave a message if we do not answer right away as we do regularly check our messages.
Please do not attempt to contain the bird unless you feel comfortable doing so. Having gloves, a towel and a box with small holes and a towel on the bottom for traction is the best way to contain an injured bird. We can walk you through how to do it if you are willing. If you are unsure, we will try to find a volunteer in your area to rescue the bird and transport it to us.
If you have contained the bird and are willing to take it all or part way to us, that is immensely helpful as we rely on volunteers to rescue and transport injured birds of prey to our center.
If you have contained the bird and are waiting on a transporter to pick up the bird to take it to us, please keep it in a warm, dark, dry place. Please do not provide food and water. Giving water or feeding the bird can do more harm than good.
